Well digging in Chișinău and its suburbs

Well digging with concrete rings in Chișinău and its suburbs: we dig down to the water, lower the rings one on top of another and seal the joints so that rainwater stays out. The price is per ring fitted, and we find the depth together as we dig.

What digging a well includes

One crew does the whole well, from the first ring to the lid.

  • The digging

We dig inside the ring, and the ring sinks as we take the soil from under it, so the walls cannot cave in.

  • Concrete rings

We use your rings or bring them from the factory with the receipt, then unload them, lower them on chains and set them straight.

  • The joints

We seal the joints between rings with mortar and tie the rings together with brackets, so surface water and soil stay out.

  • Bottom and lid

Gravel goes on the bottom so sand does not rise and the water stays clear, then we fit the lid.

How deep the well will be

The water sets the depth, not the plan: we see it as we dig, though the neighbours' wells give a rough idea.

  • Where to dig

We choose the spot together: away from the septic tank, the outside toilet and animal sheds, with room for the rings and the soil.

  • By hand or by machine

In Moldova a ring well is dug by hand, from inside the ring, so it goes down straight. A mini excavator can take out the first metres if it fits in the yard; below that it is a person with a shovel again.

  • When we stop

When the water comes in fast enough to fill the well. We usually set one more ring below the water line so the well does not run dry in summer. The price only grows with the number of rings fitted.

How we dig a well

Three stages, from the visit to the lid. You show us the spot and the way in for the rings.

  1. We see the site

We check where we can dig, how the rings get in and what the soil is like, ask how deep the neighbours have water, then give the price per ring.

  2. We dig and lower the rings

One person digs in the well, another lifts the soil out by bucket, and the rings go down one after another. Once water appears we pump it out and keep digging until enough comes in.

  3. We clean and hand over

We pump out the first cloudy water, put gravel on the bottom, seal the last joints and fit the lid. We spread the soil over the yard or take it away, if you want.

Common questions

Can't find the answer? Ask us in the request form or on Viber, WhatsApp or Telegram.

How much does it cost to dig a well?

Digging a well is priced per ring fitted, and the total depends on how many rings it takes to reach water. The ring price covers the labour: digging, lowering the ring and sealing the joint. You get the exact price on the visit; if the ground has rock or a lot of water, we say so before starting.

Do you drill artesian wells?

No, we dig concrete ring wells. An artesian well is drilled with a rig, much deeper, so for that you need a drilling company. A ring well can be cleaned and deepened over the years, and you can draw water from it with a bucket when the power is off. If you already have a ring well, we can clean it or deepen it.

Who brings the rings?

Whichever suits you. If the rings are already in your yard, we lower yours. If not, we tell you how many are needed and of what diameter, bring them from the factory and show you the receipt. The lorry needs to reach the gate; from there we roll the rings to the well ourselves. Unloading and setting them is in the price per ring.

Want a new well in your yard?

Tell us where the house is and how deep your neighbours have water. The crew that does excavation in Chișinău comes to see the spot and gives you the price per ring.
