Sewer digging in Chișinău

Sewer digging in Chișinău and its suburbs: we dig the trench from the house to the street sewer or to the septic tank, lay a sand bed, fit the 110 mm pipe to a fall and backfill. The price is per metre, and you get it once we have seen the route.

What an outdoor sewer includes

We work from where the pipe leaves the house to the connection manhole or the tank: we dig, lay the pipe and backfill, all in one job.

  • The trench

We dig it by hand or by mini excavator, below the depth the ground freezes to in winter.

  • The fall

The pipe drops about 2 cm per metre so waste flows on its own and does not block.

  • Pipe and manholes

We lay the 110 mm pipe on sand and put inspection chambers at the bends and on long runs, so the pipe can be cleared.

  • Backfill

We cover the pipe with sand, then soil, and compact the trench in layers so it does not sink after the first rain.

Where the sewer goes

The route depends on what the street has and what is already built in the yard.

  • To the city sewer

If the street has a sewer, we connect to its manhole on the network operator's terms, for example Apă-Canal Chișinău. For a house, the depth of the street manhole sets the fall of the whole route.

  • To a tank or a plant

With no street sewer, the waste goes to a concrete ring tank or to a treatment plant, both placed as far as possible from a drinking water well.

  • Through a finished yard

Under paths, next to trees and by the foundation we dig by hand so nothing gets damaged. If the route runs under paving, the slabs come up before digging.

How we lay the sewer

Three steps, without disturbing the yard more than we must.

  1. We measure the route

We see where the pipe leaves the house, where the manhole is, how many metres away it is and what fall we get.

  2. We dig and lay

We dig the trench, add the sand, lay the pipe and check the fall with a level on every section. The pipes join on rubber seals so the joints do not leak.

  3. We test and backfill

We run water through and check that it drains and the joints stay dry, then backfill with sand and soil and compact.

Common questions

How much does an outdoor sewer cost per metre?

It is priced per metre, including the trench, the sand and laying the pipe. It costs more where the trench runs under concrete, through roots, through rock or deeper than usual. You buy the pipe and bends or we bring them, with the receipt. You get the price per metre for your route once we have measured it, and it only changes if the ground hides something nobody could see.

How deep does a sewer pipe go?

Below the depth the ground freezes to in winter, usually around a metre, and at the street manhole as deep as the connection requires. If the pipe cannot go deep enough, we insulate it. We see the depth along the route, because the fall has to hold over the whole length: the longer the route, the deeper the pipe at the manhole.

Do you handle the connection paperwork?

You apply for the connection to the city sewer with the network operator, who also sets the technical conditions: where to connect and how deep. We dig and lay to those conditions and make the connection at the street manhole once the operator allows it. If the operator wants to see the pipe, we leave the trench open until they come.
