Excavation in Chișinău: machine earthworks on your plot

Excavation in Chișinău and its suburbs: we come with a backhoe loader or a mini excavator and its operator, strip the topsoil, dig the pit for a house, an extension or a pool, load the soil onto a tipper truck and take it away. Excavation is priced per cubic metre dug and removed, and we give you the figure after seeing the plot.

What the job includes

All the earthworks on a plot before the builders arrive, from the turf down to the bottom of the pit.

  • Topsoil strip

We take off the turf and roots and keep the good soil aside for the garden.

  • The dig

We dig a pit for a house, an extension, a pool or a septic tank, to the depths in the project.

  • Loading and haulage

The backhoe loads straight onto the tipper truck, so no soil piles up in the yard.

  • Backfill

Once the foundation is in, we put soil back along the walls and compact it in layers.

Which machine comes to you

We choose by the gate, the ground and the volume to dig.

  • Mini excavator

Fits through a gate about 1.5 m wide and works in tight yards, by fences and next to the house. It digs septic tank pits, trenches and foundations for extensions.

  • Backhoe loader

Faster on a large pit, since it digs with the rear bucket and loads with the front one. It needs a wide entrance and firm ground up to the pit.

  • Per cubic metre or per hour

A pit with a clear volume, such as a foundation pit, is priced per cubic metre with haulage. Small jobs that cannot be measured beforehand are simpler to pay by the machine hour.

How we work on a plot

Four steps, from the first visit to the soil taken away.

  1. We see the plot

We measure the pit, check how the machine and the truck get in, and ask where pipes, gas and cables run.

  2. Strip and dig

The topsoil comes off first, then we dig to the level in the project. Near services and in the corners we finish by hand.

  3. Take the soil away

Dug soil is loose and takes 20-30% more room than in the ground, so we count the truckloads with a margin. What the backfill needs stays on the plot.

  4. Backfill and compact

After the foundation we backfill in layers and compact, so the ground by the walls does not sink after the first rains.

Common questions

Can't find the answer? Ask us in the request form or on Viber, WhatsApp or Telegram.

How much does excavation cost per cubic metre?

We give the price per cubic metre after seeing the plot: it depends on the ground (clay, rock, water), the depth, the access for the machine and where the soil goes. It covers digging, loading and haulage. A small job is simpler to pay by the machine hour and the truckload, from the price list.

Where does the dug soil go?

You can keep the topsoil for the garden. The clay from the pit leaves the plot on the tipper truck. We agree how much stays for the backfill before the first load leaves. When the job is priced per cubic metre, haulage is included; when you pay by the hour, truckloads are counted separately.

What do I need to prepare?

Clear access for the machine and the truck, and if we dig for a house, the setting-out from the builder or the surveyor. Show us where the water, gas and cables run: next to them we dig by hand. After heavy rain it is sometimes better to wait a day or two for the clay to dry.

Can you price the earthworks from a builder's estimate?

Yes. If the project or the estimate has an earthworks section with volumes, send us that page. We price the digging, haulage and backfill from it and confirm the figure after seeing the plot.
