Well cleaning in Chișinău

Well cleaning in Chișinău and its suburbs: we pump the water out, lift the silt and sand off the bottom, wash the ring walls and disinfect the well. The price is per well, and you know it before we go down. We also clean old wells nobody has been down for years.

What cleaning involves

We bring the pump and everything else; all we need is a socket.

  • Pumping out

We empty the well with a drainage pump, right to the bottom. If the water comes in fast, the pump runs the whole time we clean.

  • Lifting the silt

We bring up by bucket the silt, sand and whatever has fallen in over the years: branches, buckets, rubbish.

  • Washing the rings

We scrub silt and algae off the walls and check whether the joints still hold and whether any ring has shifted.

  • Disinfecting

We treat the water and the walls with a chlorine solution, then let the well fill again.

When a well needs cleaning

Signs you can see for yourself. The sooner you call, the less silt there is to lift.

  • Cloudy water

The water clouds after rain or stays cloudy all the time. Silt has built up on the bottom, or surface water gets in through the joints; in the second case cleaning alone is not enough and the joints need sealing.

  • A smell

The water smells of silt, rotten eggs or stale water. The well needs cleaning and disinfecting, and the water should be tested, especially with a cesspit or a fertilised plot nearby.

  • Less and less water

Sand has raised the bottom or blocked the spring. If there is still too little water after cleaning, see well deepening.

How the cleaning goes

Three steps, with you there, so you see what comes up from the bottom.

  1. We pump out

We empty the well and check the air at the bottom before anyone goes down. One person goes down on a safety line while the other holds it from the top.

  2. We clean bottom and walls

We lift out the silt and sand, wash the rings and lay clean gravel on the bottom so sand no longer rises into the water.

  3. We disinfect

We treat the well and tell you when the water can be used again and how many times to pump it out first. If the smell stays, we treat it again.

Common questions

Can't find the answer? Ask us in the request form or on Viber, WhatsApp or Telegram.

How much does well cleaning cost?

Cleaning is priced per well. It costs more for a very deep well, a lot of silt or water that comes in fast and has to be pumped the whole time. If we see during cleaning that the joints need sealing or a ring needs adding, we tell you first and only then carry on. We give you the total once we know the depth and how much silt is on the bottom.

How often should a well be cleaned?

When the water goes cloudy, smells or drops. Without such signs, a clean every few years is enough. After a flood, muddy rain or if something has fallen in, clean it as soon as you can. Wells are easiest to clean in late summer and autumn, when they hold the least water.

Can I drink the water after cleaning?

After disinfection the well is pumped out a few times until the chlorine smell goes. If you drink the water, have it tested at a laboratory, for example at the National Agency for Public Health. We clean and disinfect the well; the laboratory does the test.

Has the well water gone cloudy?
